Hello Ray.
By right I'm really in no position to advise you on this. But I have few basic knowledge on the issue. CRESTOR is a synthetic lipid lowering agent for oral administration which meant to help a sufferer of high cholesterol to lower down their cholesterol level. I assumed from the surgery you had described above telling me that you might have high blood pressure and cholesterol level, weight issues and heart problem.
Even though from the article wrote on how dangerous low blood pressure can be, it was also something meant for a normal person who had never before undergo a surgery. Therefore, it is best to follow on your medication as described by your physician.
However, when it comes to medication of High blood pressure, they are actually a wide choice of medicine depending on the individual's body. if you feel that your current medication is making you feel very uncomfortable, causing severe side effects and other side effects of low cholesterol like being highly susceptible to depression and tension - it is best that you consult your physician again to see if you need to change on your medication. 10mg of Crestor is usually recommended for a person on the start of their cholesterol therapy.
Your HDL now is at a desirable state but never let go below 50 and your LDL at the optimal state.

I had bypass surgery 2-9-06 and my cardiologist put me on Tropol 12.5 mg,
Amlodipine 5MG and Crestor 10 mg.
My Cholestorol is now 106 (from 188 before surgery) and LDL is 40 (124 before surgery). It sounds like from this article I ought to cut out the Crestor. What do you think?
